Verbier

Undeniably one of the most celebrated ski resorts in the world, Verbier offers some of Switzerland's most challenging skiing and snowboarding, a fabulous choice of high quality accommodation, and a sophisticated cosmoplitan après ski scene.

It is a popular weekend destination for well-heeled skiers from Geneva and London, many of whom rent apartments for the season and commute on Friday and Sunday evenings.

With the neighbouring resorts of Thyon, Veysonnaz, and Nendaz, Verbier forms part of the vast 4 Vallées ski area. The four resorts are linked by lifts with electronic passes to provide a total of 412 km of ski slopes and 95 different lifts, with the longest single run an astonishing 31km. The highest point in the region is the Mont-Fort at 3330m which forms part of the local Verbier area.

Verbier's ski season normally runs from mid-December to the end of April. Resort altitude ranges from 1500m to 3300m (the summit of the Mont-Fort glacier) where the views are simply breathtaking. Such high altitude and the presence of glaciers means that snow is guaranteed. Verbier is also one of the world's top off piste resorts, offering fantastic powder and great heli-skiing opportunities and an excellent snowpark.

The village itself is a a very attractive collection of traditional and modern chalets nestling around a central square dominated by the village church.

We absolutely love Verbier, and we're sure you will too!

The Skiing

Beginners

For beginners there are a number of nursery slopes located within the village. These are readily accessible. La Chaux also has gentle undulating runs. For the more adventurous Savoleyeres offers excellent opportunities to explore the mountain on long blue runs through the trees.

Intermediates

Verbier and the rest of the 4 valleys offers a vast area of varied terrain from winding routes through the trees to the more challenging glacial pistes. Try to ski the 4 Valleys in a day (but don't miss the last connecting lift back), explore Brusson for a day - the possibilities are endless.

Advanced

Verbier has become a meccca for advanced skiers, with challenging itinerary runs and unquestionably some of the best off piste skiing in the world. If you tire of what you find on your own then hire a guide and go heliskiing or touring and you will be shown to places you could never have imagined exist.
