Ski Armadillo is an independent ski chalet company run by experienced skiers. The founders, who still own the company, have been skiing in the Alps for over thirty years. They know that you want to ski hard during the day, return to the chalet to eat well in comfortable surroundings before sampling the fabulous nightlife on offer in the top European resorts.

To be sure we get the best staff, we pay them well above average, accommodate them well, give them lift passes and good skis. We only employ staff that are interested in the mountains so that their enthusiasm for skiing and local knowledge can be passed on to our clients. All Armadillo staff are hand picked and have a formal cooking qualification as well as an intensive training program in resort to ensure that the high standards we demand will be achieved. The Story


Rewind to Easter 2000, Julian, Matt and friends were waiting in Gatwick airport for nine hours, courtesy of a technical delay on a charter plane. Familiar story? Finally we made it to Verbier and had an awesome holiday, great snow, blue skies, fabulous off piste all the usual Verbier stuff. The accommodation and service we received was adequate but not something that would make us book again. Over a beer in the Fer a Cheval we figured that with the advent of low cost airlines skiiers did not want the horrors of charter flights and to be herded around like sheep. Furthermore if we found good quality chalets and staff that were friendly and actually wanted to do the job as well as being proficient then we could fill a gap in the market.

That summer we found Chalet Arnica in the centre of town and employed our first chalet girl. Ski Armadillo was born! We then hurriedly began selling holidays to friends and family. Our first guests arrived in early January 2001. Over the years we have found chalets and apartments all in Verbier and grown the business steadily, now expanding to include St Anton in our portfolio. We now have many clients returning to us every year from families to corporate groups, heli skiiers to beginners. All have a common love of the Alps, the excellent skiing, beautiful views, famous bars and restaurants as well as our great accommodation and friendly, professional staff.
